Tim and I discuss music and stuff vol 39

This week Tim AKA Alaska and I discuss the music of Fiona apple, Busta Rhymes and the Reh-dogg. While we both agree that Busta rhymes new song is the fucking worst, I learn that Alaska didn’t like liquid swords or the new Fiona Apple album. MY Word, sir!

  1. i used to love Busta back in the days i’ll admit he was my first favourite rapper growing up.

I can’t even look at him the same way now, it’s like being trapped in a void where the only things it shows are Suburban Commando and episodes of Hogan Knows Best

    • I don’t really hate it as much as I think if sounds horribly dated. It has great production and great Wu appearances but overall it’s pretty bland because GZA sounds so dated. Out of all the Wu solo albums its the least relistenable (well with the exception of deck and ugod). I have a bigger issue with people who jock it than the album itself.

      • Fair enough. I do take issue that GZA seems to have relegated himself to riding that album to death instead of doing anything new of merit. I am one of the jockers of Liquid Swords and I agree it sounds dated but I think that’s one of the reasons the album was so great. It’s very visceral and gritty. I can throw it on anytime and be transported back to the mid 90’s when I was on my grind. Walking the streets of Shaolin in Winter. Wondering where the next score was coming from. (Or maybe in high school in suburban Phoenix. I can’t remember.Shit was crazy back then)
